About Us

EHI is a full service environmental consulting firm, founded in 1989 to assist California businesses in managing their ever more complex regulatory compliance requirements. EHI is very successful in providing expert, cost-effective environmental compliance and planning assistance to a group of clients.

The Team

We believe in order to advise business owners and managers competently, consultants themselves must have solid business management experience.  The environmental consultants and project managers at EHI have extensive backgrounds in various aspects of industrial management which complement their expertise in the environmental field.

EHI President BJ Atkins

Mr. Atkins is a graduate of Humbolt University and holds degrees in Oceanography & Economics. He began his career in the environmental field working for Sun Exploration and Production Company, responsible environmentally for 27 onshore petroleum production leases, from Long Beach to Sacramento. In 1988, BJ entered the world of environmental consulting working for a large consulting firm located in Bakersfield, CA. In 1989, seeing an opportunity to fill a gap in coverage for such services in Southern California, Mr. Atkins opened Atkins Environmental HELP, Inc. That business is today called Environmental HELP, Inc. and is dedicated to utilizing the latest technologies and up to the minute information about laws regulating environmental impact and worker safety to help Southern California businesses eliminate regulatory headaches.  For a complete biography and company history, click here.
